This September, we invite you to be part of one of the most exciting and unique charity events in the region: the 8th annual Matt Light Celebrity Shoot-Out.  From the record-breaking amount of money raised for the Light Foundation, to the number of attendees, to the phenomenal local and national media coverage and this year, last year’s Shoot-Out was an incredible success.  In 2012, we’re aiming even higher!

This one-of-a-kind event is unlike any other; it’s part clay-shooting tournament, part outdoor concert, part fine-dining and part exhibition that together, create one unique, exciting and memorable day for both sponsors and “shooters”.  Held at the world-class Addieville East Farm in Mapleville, Rhode Island, the Shoot-Out has attracted celebrities from the world of sports, music and entertainment, including Matt’s friend and teammate Tom Brady, and more than two dozen past and current Patriots players including: Wes Welker, Dan Koppen, Sebastian Vollmer, Rob Gronkowski, Nate Solder, Dane Fletcher, Julian Edelman, Logan Mankins, Steven Gostkowski, Brian Hoyer and Gary Guyton.  Former Patriots Tedy Bruschi, Adam Vinatieri, Adalius Thomas and Mike Vrabel and Football Hall-of-Famer Andre Tippett also enjoyed themselves at previous years’ events. Over the years, Comedian Lenny Clarke, Olympic gold medalist Bode Miller, “Deadliest Catch” star Mike Fourtner, TV actor Kevin Chapman, two of the world’s fastest shooters, Jerry Miculek and Max Michele, Jr., top chefs Ming Tsai and Michael Schlow, and musicians Martin Sexton and Sully from “Godsmack” have also played a role in this event, and each year, the list keeps growing!

To date, The Matt Light Celebrity Shoot-Out has raised nearly $3 million dollars for the Light Foundation’s initiatives that include various programs for at-risk teens in Rhode Island; Light’s home state of Ohio; Lafayette, Indiana, near Matt’s alma mater, Purdue; and Nashville, Tennessee, where a local youth organization looking to build leadership into an existing program reached out to participate.  In 2009, the Foundation opened its outdoor leadership camp, Camp Vohokase at Chenoweth Trails, which continues to be upgraded and expanded every year with more trails, running water and electricity, additional living quarters, an outdoor cooking and eating area, a firepit for fireside chats, a pond, an outdoor amphitheatre and a parking lot.  Last summer, Camp Vohokase graduated the first class from its four year program, all of whom have plans for what they admit is a much brighter future.  The Foundation plans to expand the number of campers each year, and Matt and his team follow all who attend year-round, to ensure they stay on course.

The Light Foundation’s objective: to instill and augment the values of responsibility, accountability and hard work by providing youth with unique outdoor learning experiences that assist them in meeting, and exceeding all of their goals.  Matt’s greater vision has always been to support larger nonprofit groups’ efforts and impact more kids from around the country.  Chenoweth Trails has already lent its facility to the YMCA, the Boy Scouts, and runs additional programs there like a 5K run and pumpkin festival.

In addition to supporting a great cause, the Matt Light Celebrity Shoot-Out provides an exceptional team-building opportunity for your staff, or a one-of-a-kind “thank-you” to top clients or customers.  Please click on the link below to download our 2012 sponsor sheet for additional information, and keep in mind that we can also customize a plan.  Longtime sponsors say the event provides amazing visibility for dollars invested; participants tell us it keeps getting better every year.
